Crossroads Mentoring
Crossroads Mentoring is a federally-funded program that
is a result of a partnership between Bethel’s Global Reach
and Houston Independent School District. The mentoring
program was developed to serve and support minority
students in the greater Houston area who are at risk of opioid abuse.
Who We Serve
Using evidence-based practices, the initial goal for the program is to recruit and mentor at least 300 students (approximately 100 per year) ages 12 to 17 receiving treatment for an opioid addiction or are the children of parents in an opioid treatment program.
To date, members of the BCC Youth Council have dual membership in the Bethel’s Youth Leadership Academy, a partnership between Bethel’s Global Reach and One Church at Bethel’s Family.
What We Do
The mentoring experience provided by the program aims to deliver high-quality services to area youth that reduce drug misuse, delinquency, and school dropout rates, while improving outcomes in academic performance and other positive behaviors.
